The nutty taste of turmeric, the rich creamy coconut milk and bananas make a perfect combination.

Bananas are high in fibre, allowing for a healthy bowel movement and healthy digestion. High in potassium, important in maintenance of normal blood pressure, cardiovascular function and antioxidants needed for overall health. B6 in bananas is part of the B group of vitamins, or B complex, needed to support healthy nerve function. B vitamins help convert carbohydrates into glucose and help metabolize fat and protein. B6 in particular is needed for healthy nerve function and helps with the production of serotonin and norepinephrine hormones influencing mood and the production of melatonin responsible for sleep wake cycle (1).

Turmeric is a super spice. I use turmeric often and in most of the cooking I do. It prevents heart disease, it is a great liver detoxifier, anda powerful anti-inflammatory.

 Ingredients

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 cup kefir
  • 1 small banana
  • 1/2 cup almond or cashew milk Cashew Milk Recipe

Optional

  • 1/2 scoop whey protein powder
  • coconut flakes

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour in a glass and enjoy.
