Making your own dairy free milk is so gratifying. I used to think that making my own nut milk was somewhat complicated and as a result I would never even attempt, until I did. I personally love everything coconut, so this milk is frothy, creamy, and tastes delicious. It is filled with nutrients like protein and healthy fats required for bone formation and hormones, as well as, vitamins and minerals.
Almonds are a great source of vitamin E, also known as an antioxidant. Vitamin E is great for skin because it helps protect it from those free radicals and it is also a fat soluble vitamin required for enzymatic activities, organs, and processes.
Coconut is so good for you because it supports your immune system, it is a source of quick energy, and it improves digestion and helps with absorption of nutrients.
Eating well is easy and it provides your body with clean energy to do its work at keeping you in top shape not just physically but mentally and spiritually too.
I’m trying a new format for the recipes, let me know how you like in the comments below 🙂
- 1/4 cup almonds
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut
- 2 L filtered water + 1 cup for soaking
- 1 tsp vanilla-optional
- 1/8 tsp sea salt
Place almonds in 1 cup filtered water
Soak for 6-12 hours
Discard water and rinse
Place almonds and remaining ingredients in a blender
Add 1 cup filtered water and blend
Once you have a creamy consistency transfer to a mason jar
Add remaining water, shake well and place in the fridge
You can start using right away or let it sit for about 6 hours
It will keep fresh in fridge for 3 days
If you make it, let me know how it turned out by leaving a comment here 🙂
